Christopher Tomaszewski is of counsel to SML LLP, specializing in real estate, licensing and business transactions.
Mr. Tomaszewski’s legal practice focuses on real estate development and leasing, intellectual property licensing and motorsports. He also works closely with large commercial developers, investors, lenders, architects, contractors, engineers and brokers in all stages of real estate transactions from initial planning to negotiating and documentation.
Mr. Tomaszewski regularly advises professional racing car drivers appearing in NASCAR®, American Le Mans Series and the Grand Am cup. He structures and procures sponsorship agreements and licensing for athletes. He also represents numerous automobile dealers.
Mr. Tomaszewski represents numerous software start-ups. He structures, negotiates and forms private entities that hold intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks and copyrights, and creates licensing policies and procedures for those entities.
With SML’s Christopher Tomaszewski, Ms. Jones initiated Ronald v Bank of America, the leading mass joinder case on behalf of homeowners alleging fraud and unfair practices by Bank of America and Countrywide Financial Services.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Tomaszewski was in house corporate counsel to First American CoreLogic, Inc., the world’s largest data aggregator, where he drafted and negotiated commercial and software licensing agreements.
Prior to being in house counsel to First American CoreLogic, Inc., Mr. Tomaszewski was a Compliance Officer for a software start-up that was purchased by a publicly traded company. He created privacy policies and counseled business executives in the areas of product compliance, disclaimers in conjunction with outsource agreements and strategic planning.
Prior to graduating from law school, Mr. Tomaszewski raced automobiles with prominent racing clubs. He continues to do so, which regularly brings him into contact with other athletes and sponsors.
Mr. Tomaszewski founded Apex Legal Group PC in Sacramento, California in 2008 and affiliated his legal practice with SML in February 2011. He is concurrently practicing law and securing endorsement deals for his clients.
Mr. Tomaszewski received a bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University in communication and pre-law studies and his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
